Friday Night Concert Series: Moira Murphy Sings Hildegard

Enjoy this lovely recital featuring the traditional acapella melodies of 12th Century Mystic Hildegard von Bingen in conversation with pieces by 17th Century religious sisters Lucretia Vizzana and Rosa Badalla.

Moira Murphy is an Appalachian soprano, composer, and performer living in the mountains of East Tennessee. She has toured internationally with operas; performed around the US with various bands from jazz to indie to metal; worked as an actor at Dollywood; performed as soprano soloist with the Boulder Chamber Orchestra; arranged ensemble pieces for repertory theatres, churches, and community choirs; stage directed an opera premiere across Wyoming, Morocco, and Scotland; and served as liturgical music director presiding over both adult and children’s choirs. She is currently a full-time vocal instructor and performer, specializing in her own compositions, sound baths, jazz, and the music of 12th century mystic Hildegard von Bingen.
